ST DAVID’S CARDIFF SECURES FIRST SHAKE SHACK OUTSIDE LONDONPress release
American burger fast-casual concept Shake Shack is opening its first restaurant outside London at St David’s in Cardiff. The restaurant group has taken a 6,000 sq ft unit at first floor level, close to the entrance to Upper East Side Arcade, Armani Exchange, Prezzo and Pizza Express.
“This is an extremely exciting time for us at Shake Shack, particularly as we deepen our connection to the UK,” said Nigel Sherwood, Business Director of Shake Shack UK. “This winter we’re bringing two incredible new Shacks to two very different, but very fitting spots in the UK. We plan to ensure that not only is each Shack engrained in its community but also becomes a true gathering spot. As we grow, we will continue to look for outstanding opportunities in major cities.”
Julian Wilkinson, regional director of intu on behalf of the St David’s Partnership, a joint venture between intu and Land Securities said, “Our shoppers will be delighted. Shake Shack is a sought after brand, which will add to the great atmosphere we already have at St David’s. Providing great dining alongside a great shopping experience is what makes the centre one of the best places to visit in Cardiff.”
