Engagement and wedding ring specialist Alba Rose to open first store in Wales at St David's Cardiff

Press release

Alba Rose, which specialises in the sale of engagement and wedding rings, is opening its first store in Wales at St David’s in Cardiff in May. Alba Rose has signed a 10 year lease for a 863 sq ft unit at The Hayes end of the shopping centre, adjacent to L’Occitane and Crabtree & Evelyn and opposite Thomas Sabo, Pen Shop and Swatch. This will be the jeweller’s fifth store in the UK.

Ryan Edkins at Alba Rose comments, “This is an exciting expansion for the brand and we are delighted with the location at St David’s, close to other premium specialist retailers. We are looking forward to introducing our diverse range of 100% British made rings to Wales.”

Julian Wilkinson, regional director of intu on behalf of the St David’s Partnership, which is a joint venture between intu and Land Securities said, “We have a very established selection of high quality jewellers at St David’s, including Welsh gold specialists Clogau which opened its first UK store at the centre 18 months ago. We are delighted that Alba Rose, an exciting new brand to Wales, will be joining the shopping offer at St David’s.”

St David’s shopping centre provides over 1.4 million sq ft of retail and leisure space and over 180 stores. Since opening its doors in 2009, it has put Cardiff firmly on the map as one of the UK’s best shopping cities.

St David’s has secured a continuous stream of high calibre retailer and restaurant openings over the past five years, including many brands that have made their debut or introduced new concept stores into Wales. 2014 saw the arrival of Primark, MAC Cosmetics, Beauty Studio by Superdrug, Size? and Wahaca’s first restaurant outside the South East.

During peak times of the year, over one million customers visit the Welsh shopping capital each week, spending over £1 million daily.

St David’s Partnership was advised by Jones Lang LaSalle and Cushman & Wakefield. Alba Rose were self-represented.
