Bonnie & Pearl wins Sceptre AwardPress release
Bonnie & Pearl, a unique pop-up concept at St David’s in Cardiff, won their second industry award for ‘Short Term Retailer of the Year’ at the Sceptre Awards on 24 June 2014.
This award follows success at the recent BCSC Opal Awards, where they won two awards, receiving the top prize in the Pop Up Shop category and the Aurora Award, which recognises the best of the best across all categories.
Bonnie and Pearl launched in September 2013, where local entrepreneurs developed a unique range of dolls to evoke the excitement and joy they experienced with their own childhood dolls, named Bonnie & Pearl. They chose St David’s as a platform to bring their e-business into a physical retail environment for the first time which resulted in a 3,264 per cent increase in sales.
The 19 sq m pop up shop showed an innovative use of space, extending 13 metres along the frontage of a large retail unit currently undergoing refurbishment.
Richard Isom, Mall Retail and Brand Partnerships Manager at Land Securities, said: “Our success in both of these awards events is extremely encouraging for the retail team at Land Securities. Ensuring we are correctly utilising the mall space within our centres is vital and this recognition demonstrates that our strategy is working.
“We have invested in developing long lasting, mutually beneficial relationships which drive value for both parties. The combination of our knowledge of Land Securities schemes, coupled with the expertise of our partners in terms of their own businesses, has delivered consistently strong results.
“We are thrilled that the Bonnie & Pearl Pop Up project has been so positively received by the judges.”Back to news list
